Careers

No open roles right now.

That's the honest answer, and we'd rather say it than keep a page of imaginary jobs open. If what's below sounds like you, write anyway — we read every one.

What the work is

A child somewhere is convinced they're bad at maths. They aren't. They're missing one skill from three years ago that nobody had time to go back and find, and every year since has been built on that gap. That's the whole problem we exist for.

So the work is unglamorous and specific: making a question land at exactly the right difficulty, writing the one explanation that fixes a particular misunderstanding, and shaving a second off the moment between a wrong answer and knowing why. There's a real adaptive engine underneath doing real psychometrics, and there are thousands of hand-checked questions on top of it. Both matter. Neither is the point on its own.

We're small, and pre-launch. That means the work is unusually broad, the decisions are unusually yours, and nothing is behind six approvals.

Who tends to fit

We don't have a list of required years. A few things we do care about:

  • You think a wrong answer is information, not a verdict. Most of what we build rests on that one idea.
  • You'd rather be specific than clever. "Grade 2 regrouping across zeros" beats "numeracy fundamentals", in the product and in a meeting.
  • You'd refuse the easy money. We don't run ads at children, track them, or sell their data, and we're not going to start when someone offers. If that reads as naive to you, we're the wrong shop.
  • You've taught somebody something, at some point, and remember how it felt when it landed.

If you learned maths the hard way — or hated it until someone finally went back for you — say so. It's relevant experience here in a way it isn't most places.

Open roles

None at the moment. We'd rather leave this empty than advertise a role we can't yet pay for. When that changes, the roles will be listed right here.

[WHEN HIRING: list each role — title, what they'd own in the first 90 days, whether it's remote or in-office, employment type, and a salary range. Publish the range. Candidates who need it are exactly the candidates worth having, and hiding it wastes everyone's month.]

How to write to us

Email hello@crestchamps.com with Careers in the subject. There's no form and no portal.

Tell us what you'd want to work on here and one thing you've made that you're proud of — a repo, a lesson plan, a worksheet that finally worked, a paper. We care much more about that than about a CV, though send one if you have it.

If we're not hiring when you write, we'll say so plainly rather than leave you waiting. We'll also keep your email on file [FOR HOW LONG? — say a real number, e.g. 12 months, and honour it. This is personal data under the DPDP Act; see the Privacy Policy.] and come back to you when something opens, unless you'd rather we didn't.
